"The Dancer believes that his art has something to say which cannot be expressed in words or in any other way than by dancing... there are times when the simple dignity of movement can fulfill the function of a volume of words. There are movements which impinge upon the nerves with a strength that is incomparable, for movement has power to stir the senses and emotions, unique in itself. This is the dancer's justification for being, and his reason for searching further for deeper aspects of his art." ~Doris Humphrey, 1937

Benefits of Dance
Dance training can benefit all children, whether they dance recreationally or decide to pursue dance as a career. It is a healthy physical exercise that promotes self-discipline, pride and responsibility. Dancing helps develop motor skills and promotes strong teamwork. It has the ability to allow one to truly express themselves, through the joy of movement. Dance students tend to be some of the busiest and brightest students. They obtain good time management skills, juggling everything required of them to dance and fulfill outside requirements. These skills certainly aid them as they face whatever choices they ultimately make in life.

Dancemoves Programs
Focusing on children ages 3 to 18, the program at Dancemoves develops as the child ages, allowing a child to reach his or her fullest potential. By joining a serious, supportive dance studio students can be guaranteed the training and motivation necessary to reach major dance goals and career aspirations. Students of Dancemoves are prepared and trained to audition and move onto a professional career of their choice. Dancemoves also has more casual classes for those students wishing a less serious approach to dance. Dancemoves consists of professional instructors who have graduated or attended well-renown colleges of dance, such as Towson University, U.M.B.C., Goucher College, as well as professional classes in New York, Boston and Los Angeles. The diversity and talent of the instructors allows student to achieve a strong training in dance.
